When you view your album in the Gallery, your photos will be displayed in a certain configuration. You can change this configuration and also the way that your albums will be displayed by default.
See a detailed description of how each of the views look in the article How to Use the Gallery.
Album Display Settings
To customize the album view from the Organizer, open the album you want to customize and select Customize Album.
This opens the settings window where you can select the default view you would like for your album.
Scroll down to Appearance. The default view can be set in the Albums and Collections default settings.
The borders feature will frame your displayed photos with a space between the photo and the edge of the screen, appearing like a photo frame (note that this frame is only applied to the displayed photo and not to the actual photo or to the thumbnails. You can apply borders to your photos in Watermarks). Setting a larger border will reduce the size of your displayed photo.
You can also adjust the spacing between thumbnails in the Grid, Justified, Flow, and Square views.
Pro users can also limit the size of displayed photos using the Limit photo display size setting. In this way, you can protect your high-res photos from being screenshotted in their full size.
Once you are happy with display settings, click Apply and Close and this is the default view that your visitors will see when you share the album with them.
Display Settings for New Albums
You can also preset the default view for all new albums or collections. Go to Account settings and select Albums and Collections.
Choose from different displays for the default view for new albums in the Customize View area.
Pro users can also limit the display size of the photos from here.
You can also set the default views in terms of background color, cover photo and whether to include borders in the Appearance area.
Gallery Settings
To customize the Gallery Settings, either access them from the top toolbar in Organizer.
Or from the Account settings.
In the Gallery Settings, you can choose between Square and Grid views and set this as the default view for all new albums.
In this settings area you can also change some of the default design settings for your Gallery.
Choose whether to include or exclude the SlickPics header (the Gallery Cover photo) and whether you want a light or a dark background.
Changing the default view setting here will not affect the view settings for existing albums.
Viewing your Changes in the Gallery
Click Show in Gallery to see how the layout looks.
From the Gallery, you can switch to Visitor View to see how your album looks to visitors. Note that visitors will still be able to change the view themselves.
