Select Website from the top navigation menu and click Add Page.
A new page will be added which you can edit as you wish. The page Type will be set as Page and the Theme will be set as Blank by default. We recommend leaving these settings unless you are already an advanced user of SlickPic or have some web design knowledge.
Change the name of your page so that it is reflected in the menu. Change the name of the page in the Title text box as well.
To add new elements to your page, just click the “+” icons below any blocks on the page.
Adding a Slideshow
A slideshow is a great way of showcasing your photos without your visitors having to scroll down the page. Select the Slideshow option from the Blocks menu and then customize it.
You can choose the slideshow to Auto-play and set the number of seconds between slides.
If you turn off the auto-play, the user will have to click the slides to go through the slideshow.
Next, select the album you want to use for your slideshow, either an existing album from the Organizer, or a new one from your computer.
In the same way that you edit photo albums, you can edit your slideshow by clicking either Change Album – which opens the menu you had before, where you can manage the slideshow settings or change the photo album – or you can Rearrange Photos and change the order they appear in the slideshow.
Adding Text and Photos Side-by-Side
Click the ‘+’ again where you would like to add another block and select 2 Columns, or another configuration if you prefer.
Select the column where you would like to add the photo and click the ‘+’ icon inside it.
You will see the Blocks window, select the Image block
This will open the photo picker, where you can select the photo you want to add to the column.
Next add your text into the other column.
Add another text block, an album or any other elements you want to make your page look just as you wanted.
Changing the Width of the Page
You can change the width of the page in the settings menu, in the Content Width dropdown. Choose a Wide or Narrow configuration. A narrow configuration usually works better for mobile screens whereas most other screens look better with a wide view.
Use the preview to see how the different configurations look with your content.
The Slug of a Webpage
A slug is a user-friendly, descriptive part of a URL that follows the domain name and usually matches the page title. The Sync Slug ensures that the URL of a webpage automatically updates to match its title.
You can disable the Sync Slug feature and manually edit the website’s URL as you prefer.
Once you insert the preferred keyword for the slug, the respective page URL also gets updated.
Changing the Order of the Menu Items
You can change the order of the menu items by just clicking and dragging them into the order you want.
Delete a menu item by clicking the menu item settings then scroll down to Delete.
Hide pages from the navigation menu and they will not appear on your menu. This means you can create internal links on your site to pages with specific content that you don’t necessarily want to list on your menu.
If you want hidden pages to be only accessible to specific clients, you can add password protection to the page. Select On from the Password Protection menu and a text field will open up where you can enter a password of your choice.
If you want to show it in the menu, you can use the Behavior option to make the menu item behave as a label rather than a link. This lets you create a page title which is just used as a placeholder for other sub-pages.
Create sub-pages in your menu by placing one menu item below the other and dragging it inwards.
Adding Blocks from the Side Menu (Advanced)
A faster but slightly more complicated way of adding blocks to your site is by dragging and dropping them in from the side menu. First open it up by clicking on the Blocks icon.
A blocks menu will open up. Just select the type of block you want and drag it onto your page, dropping it in the place you want it. Some experience is recommended before you use this option. For more information, see the article How to Add Different Elements to your Site Using Drag and Drop.
